Understanding Chiropractic by Sylvain Limonier, DC Chiropractor in Paris

Chiropractic has been proven to be a scientifically grounded discipline.

This health care discipline has strongly participated in a learning experience of “what is good for the body”  along with maintaining the nervous system free from neurological agressions. Maintaining good heath is what your brain is dedicated to.

Be and stay in good health is what it is all about, it’s what your body is meant for. If it’s not the case it’s because something is going wrong.

Chiropractic is a holistic discipline that takes into account the body as a whole, and not by pieces, like allopathic medicine does.

Chiropractic does not try to restore health by means of drugs. Its purpose is to locate which part of the body does not receive the appropriate message and is thus prevented from functioning properly.

If you look as far back as ancient Egypt ... doctors have noticed the relationship between structure (the spine) and function of the human body.

After years after many years during which chiropractic was practiced in France, the Senate eventually passed (in March 2002) a law concerning the patients’rights and the accreditation of the profession of Chiropractor.

Acknowledged by the WHO (World Health Organization), the public acceptance of chiropractic has seen remarkable growth :

  • as the first manual therapy in the world
  • as second largest health discipline in the US (totally integrated into the health system)
  • as the third largest health system in the world

A Doctor of Chiropractic is a physician with a curriculum of 7 years.

Chiropractic is not to be mistaken with massages, or ostheopathy or kinestherapy, whose studies techniques and results are fundamentally different.
